Hello and Happy Friday! My FH and I are having a hard time selecting favors for our guests. We've decided that in lieu of favors, we would make a donation to our foundation of choice. Given that I was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2009, we decided we would donate to The Epilepsy Foundation. Now, here's the part were trying to figure out. My idea was to make an announcement to our guests at the wedding and then when sending a thank you card for attending the wedding, include a postcard with a similar notation. Is it correct to say that we made a donation in the guest's name, my name, or FH and me?

Has anyone does this before it can anyone shed light on this?

My next stop is Google, of course. Smiley smile

While the poster may have handled the responses with class; I may not. It's not "patting yourself on the back" or being rude to announce it with a nice piece of paper, etc. I want to take all of the money we would have spent on favors (99% of which are super tacky and get thrown out, and ate a waste of money) and donate it to an animal shelter. And I want my guests to know this. Not for the do-gooder attention or anything like that. firstly, so they don't think we are just selfish jerks and didn't want to splurge for favors, but secondly, it will warm their hearts knowing we put that money towards a good cause instead of stupid chocolates or dumb monogrammed things with our names and wedding date on it (I mean, seriously how selfish is THAT) Maybe some of you should just think of this in a different light. It's a wonderful idea.
