Why are they so expensive and has anyone found any for a decent price?

I've seen them for $1 at the above places, but that's still more than I wanted to spend on an item that's extra decoration. We're going to go with paper/foil doilies as charger. I think I paid around $10 for 100 of them, and I really like the look. If you definitely want real chargers, you could look into renting them, check somewhere like ebay or facebook marketplace, or plan to sell them after your wedding to recoup some of the cost.

Dollar Tree has gold ones. I used them for my DIY donut towers! If you need a even more budget friendly option, look for large doilies on Amazon. They have lots of different sizes and colors and would give you the same overall look.

If you buy them, you have to keep them after the wedding so that detered us from using them! We could have rented them for $4 a piece from our coordinator but they were not that important to me to spend an extra $650 on plates that were mostly for decor anyhow. See if your venue offers them or the caterer even. If not you may have to go through a regular rental company!

As unhelpful as this sounds, try googling rental companies in your area. I did that when I was looking and found 3 companies who all had tons of wedding supplies. You could also talk to your other vendors - when we met with our caterer she actually recommended the rental company we were considering booking because they had a lot of experience working together.

I just started doing that. I found one company with the kind I want. I’m going to keep searching for rentals! Thanks.

I am buying ours at the Dollar Tree for $1 per charger. To rent they were $2 per charger, so that made no sense. I've seen a ton of brides selling their Dollar Store ones for $0.50 or $0.75 per charger on our local bride Facebook page.

Check Facebook Marketplace and local wedding FB groups as well! I got 188 gold chargers for $175 on Marketplace (so they came to 93 cents/each), but I was going to go with Dollar Tree if I couldn't find anything cheaper. I've seen people selling them on Marketplace for 50 cents each in the past as well. They're SO easy to sell since they're super popular for weddings.

It's probably cheaper to buy for 1$
I am looking into doing that vs renting. Perk is we can possibly resell them after use. Downside is renting is convenient they drop off and pick up.
