Chargers or No Chargers?

Hi guys! So my MOH knows a guy that could rent us table linens, napkins, and gold charger plates for 750$.

However I'm having to rent everything else from a local event store which my wedding planner works with. I told my friend yes to the guy a week ago thinking he was saving me money but when I went to the store for the rest of the things I found I could get everything 300$ cheaper without charger plates. My friend is now a little upset with me and although I really appreciate her help I don't see how saving 300$ is offensive... anyhow, do you think the chargers are worth the 300$ or not?? I would much rather rent everything from the same place and through a credited business, also we are 7 months out from the wedding!! Thank you for your help!

PS- the picture is the table runner I'm renting and ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED!

    No one will even notice the charger plates. I'm having them because it comes with my catering package... if they weren't then I wouldn't get them. Waste of money

    No. Since you are paying for it, you get to decide what's important and what's not. Charger are totally optional.

    Chargers add a really nice touch to the tables. However, the $300 can come in handy for other things in your budget, like favors or tips to vendors. Since it doesn't seem like you're too attached to them I'd go for the savings.

    Can you ask your friends guy how much it would be to omit the chargers? Maybe he can take them off and you would still save money. Also, $300 for chargers seems like a lot, how many guests are you having?

    $300 for chargers is expensive. Do what you want, it's your money. Personally, I wouldn't rent them, regardless of how my friend felt.

    Tell him you found them for a lot less and if he cannot go down on his price you will go elsewhere . It's business!
