Chargers not safe??

Fmv, on September 21, 2019 at 11:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Just bought a gorgeous wooden design 6 pack of chargers from Michaels 60% off. I got home and then realized on the back of the box it says not food safe!? Crap
I was going to use them for my dessert table.
What should i do?? Would they still be safe to use if i put something paper or cloth on top of them?
Has anyone else come across this?

If you put something on top of them, it’s fine. The food just can’t touch the charger directly. The paint actually chips off rather easily.

You can place the items in a Baking or Snack Cup and then put that on a Doily (check the Dollar Tree for a pack of 3, possibly).

You just can’t have food sitting on the Charger plate.

Chargers are used to enhance the visual.

You normally see Plates sitting on them.

    Congratulations and 🍀‼️

Good idea! We are doing apple cider donuts and cookies. So do you think if i find the doily they will be safe sitting on them that way?
    Thanks!

I think it would be fine if you put doilies or linen over it

I was also thinking some large doilies or nice large napkins would be nice to set on top of them for your table.

You can place wax or parchment paper down and lay the stands on top to hold the donuts

A quick search will give some varnish options if you don't want to cover the wood.Chargers not safe?? 2

I think it means they aren't food safe because they aren't plates. They are meant for a plate to go on top of them. I think if you put a doily or something on top of them and put a cupcake in a wrapper on them, you'll be fine.
