Hi!

I was wondering what your opinion are on chargers in table settings? are you doing them? if so why? post your inspiration for you table setting.

Im so indecisive Im not sure what to do I know the dollar tree has some and I recently saw a DIY for the a dollar tree "moss" charger that I loved (pic below)

Chargers- neccessary? 1

I also like some table settings that have non at all, we are having a buffet style reception dinner, so I'm thinking we could do either.

We’re doing our tables like the second picture, just with no menus. Chargers just seem like a huge waste of money to me unless you have a large decor budget.

Charges make the decor have a little more elegance especially when your floral arrangements aren’t dramatic.
We’re spray painting some dollar tree ones rose gold.

Our table looked incomplete without charges, we bought ours from dollar tree as well, way cheaper than buying the ones for like $5 each. 😉

I'm using them! But I don't think they are necessary. I think it depends what else is on the table, because too much stuff can make it look cluttered and busy.

I didn’t do chargers and my table setting looked perfect without them m. It’s not like anyone asked about them but it’s really up to you and your vision

I didn't know either before I started wedding planning! they are a decorative "plate" that is under the actual dinner plate, my reason for wanting them is our table cloths are white and the dinner plates are white and we are having a very simple centerpiece of candles and greenery, so I feel a charger will separate the white on white and add a little more color!

Were doing charger. We' are buying them one at a time using 40% off coupons from
hobby lobby. We will about 80 guests, so it won't be horribly expensive ($1.30 a piece after tax, lol) We just figured they would make the table look less bare, we are doing a buffet. This is a mock up of what our tables will look like.
I need to get one just about every other day until January, blah!

Not necessary. We did the menus on the napkins like in your second picture. Took it up a notch without having to pay for 125 extra unused plates 😝

No wedding decor is “necessary” but chargers do add to the elegance of an event. One daughter didn’t do them, and the other is. It’s a personal choice.

I actually Just bought some today. I we don’t have menus so I just wanted something to set places I guess. I got Them at micheals a 6 pack for $8. They are kind of unnecessary I just Like the way they look.

They aren't necessary, just decorative. That said, we're having them. We are having wedding stations, so plates won't be set on the tables, and I just prefer the way a fully set table looks. Bought the silver ones from Dollar Tree. They are amazingly nice for a buck!

We have a very high end venue that’s used to doing black tie style weddings and even they said they are an uneeded expense. So we are skipping. We will have a nice napkin fold and great centerpieces instead. I do understand the desire with a white on white set up though. We are white on purple so it bothers me less.

We had a formal wedding. The gold edged china we rented had a large plate to be used for this purpose and I think it added an elegant touch to the tablescape.
