Chapped lips?

Any other brides have terrible dry lips?? Mine are always dry and I have picked them foreverrrr. I know I shouldn't but it is a very bad habit of mine. I am currently on day 4 no picking. Started exfoliating and moisturizing with coconut oil but it doesn't seem to help. Am I just being impatient?...

Help me out! I need my lips to not look terrible on our big day in 3 weeks!

Drink LOTS more water. I use Carmex every day and my lips are soft and smooth! But water really helps. When you don't get enough, everything starts to dry out! Your lips are the first things that will show that dryness. Hydrate!!

    Me too!!!

I drink a ton of water but my lips are still always dry and I have a million different chapstick brands.
Then my friend offered to do my makeup for my wedding and during a trial run, she used layers and layers of Vaseline on my lips before starting and did my entire face and left my lips for very last. At the end when she was doing my lips, my lips were softer than I ever remember having. So she told me to put Vaseline on my lips every night and my lips were perfectly soft the day of.

I use Aquaphor in the winter especially. Even one day of use works so well!!

I use Carmex Original in the click stick. Blistex and Chapstick brands actually made my lips more chapped and peel in a painful way. Carmex is the only thing I can use that helps

Yea those brands are pretty known to make lips worse, just so you buy more.

I'm only going to use Lanolin, vaseline and maybelline baby lips now. Smiley smile I tried them all today and so far my lips are already much better!

I understand your pain because - it doesn't seem to matter how much water I drink, my lips were always chapped. I've tried lanolin, chapstick, La Mer, pretty much every single item under Sephora's lip care section. The only thing I've found that really works is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask . The applicator sucks so get yourself a lip brush, but just put it on before you go to sleep every night. If I need something during the day (which isn't every hour anymore), I use Kopari Coconut Lip Glossy. Use a lip scrub before you put on lipstick. Good luck!

ELF makes an excellent lip exfoliater that actually works! I have used it for a while now and my FH can always tell right away when I use it hahah. It comes in several flavors and is $4 I believe. The only one I don’t recommend is the clear one because it’s very waxy. All the others are excellent! I also have chapstick on me 24/7 so any time my lips feel dry I apply some of this. It works well and has a slight minty taste to it! I put chapstick on before bed as well, a little more than I would during the day, just to help keep my lips hydrated.
I also don’t wear lipstick/lipgloss on a daily basis, I’m sure that probably makes a difference too

    Ladies!
I have started to exfoliate my lips every day. Morning and night, just by lightly rubbing them with a warm wet washcloth. I pat them dry and then apply vaseline!

    My lips are 100% better!

I also dont use any other chapstick. Only vaseline. Oh, and aquaphor for when I'm out and dont have my huge tub of vaseline.

But seriously, the gentle exfoliation and vaseline helps so much! And I apply a slightly thicker coat before bed. Smiley smile

I've found a lip gloss from a company called Halo is the New Black that is all natural that is fantastic because I suffer from dry lips too. I read some reviews first about it and a woman said she was on anitbiotics and her lips were really dry and within one day they were normal. You can find them at https://www.haloisthenewblack.com.au and they have a makeup mirror and LED light too which is so cool. I hope this helps.

I use so many different chapsticks. I don’t feel like one works better than another. I can speak that aquaphor is super moisturizing. It’s the ointment my tattoo artist recommends for healing tattoos and I always seem to forget how strong it is until the skin near the new tattoo starts breaking out. I say that just as a caution because too much moisturizer can be a bad thing too. So maybe make sure you’re just applying to your lips and not the skin around it.
