Chapel or cathedral veil with this dress?

Serena, on December 10, 2020 at 12:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

Hello everyone Smiley smile I'm trying to decide whether my dress would suit a chapel or cathedral length veil more. My veil will be a plain tulle veil with a raw edge.

I've attached a few images of the dress from the front and side. It's unfinished at the moment, sleeves with lace detailing are going to be attached as well as some cream lining on the inside of the dress so my skin won't be visible underneath like it is now.

Cathedral or chapel? Also, the venue will likely be a small one with maybe 40 people-ish due to covid guidelines so makes me a bit unsure about cathedral as it may look a tad out of place maybe.. compared to say if it was at a much bigger venue with hundreds? :/ so confused!

Thanks!

That's a beautiful dress! I would suggest a chapel veil just because they are easier to maneuver and walk in but either would look great on you!

I think both lengths would look great with the dress! Personally, I am a sucker for a cathedral veil- they are just so dramatic and make the most beautiful photographs!

I vote chapel. I think a cathedral would be too much with the detail on your dress.

Aw thank you so much! I'm being so critical about everything and just trying to get everything to match properly.. many bridezilla moments haha. Yes that's exactly why I was going to go for a chapel because it looks so beautifully long and elegant, and won't look too over the top either for a smaller wedding.

Haha that's the problem, love both too! Cathedral and chapel veils are my favourites and definitely cathedral veils look SO stunning in photography.

I’m on board with cathedral length! The chapel length would just get lost in the back of your dress, which by the way is beautiful!

I'm also a cathedral veil fan!

My dress was pretty detailed (heavily on the bodice), we only had about 35 guests, and I very happily wore one.

I also vote for cathedral!! In my mind, this is the only day you're really going to be able to wear a veil in your life, so you might as well go with the more dramatic one (in my opinion lol). Here is a picture of my cathedral length veil Smiley smile

Oooh I think either length would be really pretty!! Smiley love

Have you tried on either style with your dress yet? Cathedral will give you that extra extra flare and a little bit of a train shape, but chapel length might suit the shape of your dress more! I'd try both on with your dress and see!

Have you considered opting out of a veil? It can take away from the gown's details

Hmm.. I may consider opting out. I'll probably try the dress on with a veil first and then go without if I'm not really feeling it.

Thanks for your response. Also, no I haven't tried on any veils yet but plan to soon hopefully!
