Changing the date

Nichole, on November 12, 2019 at 1:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Has anyone changed their wedding date while planning the wedding? I have been planning my wedding since I got engaged early this year and things have been going pretty smoothly until recently. My finance and I have hit a financial road block and need to push the wedding date back for a year. So have any of you needed to change your wedding date for one reason or the other? If you did, how did that work out for you?

We had to change our wedding date from 05/03/2020 to 02/23/2020. We were six months out at the time and then four and a half months out after we switched. My brother-in-law (sister's husband) is getting deployed March of 2020 until January 2021. We didn't want to wait until 2021 to get married, but I couldn't imagine him not being there as he's like a big brother to me. So I emailed all of our vendors and asked them if they had any of three dates in February available and luckily they all had all of them available! So we just chose the one we liked best and I'm so thankful it all worked out as flawlessly as it did.

We changed our date from 8/31/2019 to 11/23/2019 because of the weather. We verified with our vendors that this was possible without losing deposits and had absolutely no problems.

I can see that tour date isn’t until 2021 so you should be totally fine. Since invitations haven’t gone out you have nothing to explain to people so don’t worry about it. Take care of yourself and your family first. Good luck.

I don't know how many times we changed our date. I think about 5 times. We went from 10/5/19 to finally 4/18/20. Not going to lie, i was pretty mad. I already want to marry to him but we had to move the date. But its been good for us cause we we're able to save up more money. So it can benefit you a lot.

My best friend was suppose to get married October 2021 but not has to push it back to 2022. No big deal for her, in the end it matters what your comfortable with and what feels right!

Originally it was supposed to be April/may 2021, then we moved it to October 2020, and finally booked a venue for May 9 2020. We decided on an affordable budget, will be doing some DIY, and what made this happen is both of our jobs offered overtime so we were able to get married sooner n pay for the wedding
