Changing silhouette of dress possible

Felicia, on January 31, 2019 at 3:56 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Hi there, I was wondering if I could get someone else's opinion. I ordered a dress that I like. Its a enzoani (mermaid) style dress with lace on the bottom.
Then I realized what style I really love is a trumpet with a tulle or organza bottom. My question is could the dress I purchased be altered and can more volume be added possibly tulle? Or should I just look for a new dress? Pic 1: Dress I purchased is in the middle and on the left in Pic 2...Thanks for reading.

My dress is lace as well. I do want mine to really pop out as well but since it wasn’t made like that I’m not sure what can be done until I go for a fitting. I was told when I bought the dress that they could possible add some crinoline? or something to make it poof out more. The thing is I imagine I’d like it like the pictures you posted. Not just poof from the inside. I’m not sure either so following this post. Smiley smile

They have items you can wear that proof out the dress. Without expensive alterations.

I thought I wanted mine poofier at the bottom too, until I had the tailor show me what that would look like. Then I hated it.

I suggest you take your dress to a tailor and ask them to show you what it would look like with more crinoline underneath it. They can do this quickly just to give you an idea of what it will look like. I decided I liked the mermaid dress much more as it is. So maybe try it first before you commit to buying or adjust anything?

I had an A - line I thought I wanted poofier as well and then I put on a slip to ad volume and it looked terrible. Definitely try some sort of slip to poof it out to see if it looks good before spending the money.
