Changing outfits for "after party" ?

Nicole, on December 16, 2011 at 10:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

We are having everyone back to our house after the ceremony (and dinner) for cake, toast, and partying. I'm starting to worry my gown will become uncomfortable once I'm dancing. I tend to get really hot and sweat ALOT when getting my party on. Is it bad to change outfits? I don't want to buy another dress...but what else can I wear? I've seen on here one person changed into a volour outfit. Maybe that in my wedding colors..or a decorated top for the wedding and jeans? I don't want to sweat my butt off in the gown but dont wanna be like haha you are all still in formal dress by changing either. help!!

Do what makes sense for you! You could also check out Marshalls or something for an inexpensive dress to change into.

I found this sparkly top on walmart's website lol http://www.walmart.com/ip/George-Women-s-Plus-Sequin-Shell/16814718 Maybe pair it with jeans. I think I will check out marshalls too. I don't want to spend alot if I'm changing outfits. Money is tight

I'm doing T-shirts for all of the bridal party "Matron of Honor", "Mother of the Bride" etc. I'm also doing a black shirt for FH "Groom" and a white shirt for me "Bride." After my reception we are going to be heading to the hotel bar for the after party. I figured I'd wear my Bride shirt and some jeans or comfy pants! =)

Dress is a simple a-line strapless gown. Sorry I don't have a pic of me in it. However I'm not sued to wearing dresses and for me, it's heavy to be really dancing alot in. I thought originally i'd be fine but now I'm thinking it may feel too heavy after awhile. Maybe I'll be too drunk/happy to care at that point? lol

@ Hayley...that's cute! I'd have to see how it looks on me. I have big hips and my belly keeps growing as I'm struggling to lose weight lol I'm actually scared my gown won't even fit!

That is one of the advantages of an empire waist, it is fitted under your boobs at the smallest part of your ribcage, it helps hide that.

Good luck ~ the top is cute too!
