Changing my hair back to my childhood colour

Mr&Mrs89, on December 3, 2016 at 1:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

I want to do a change and lighten up my hair colour for the wedding. My hair use to be a strawberry blonde as a kid but turned to light brown. I do have strawberry blonde highlights in it already that have moved down. I love this hair color below ! I hope it will turn out okay even though I have old highlights in it.

I think that you've got enough time to play around with different colors and go back to what you have. I'd start pretty soon though so if you end up hating it, you don't damage your hair by dying it too frequently. Someone correct me if the timing is wrong!

I love this! Go to a professional. It is your only way to guarantee a close match to your desired color. I actually LOVE how my hair looks when dye is placed over old highlights, it gives it depth.

I was a blonde and my hair turned light brown as I got older, since then I mostly dye it red.

If you like to be gentle with your hair and wouldn't mind potentially having a much brighter red, you can try henna. As I type this I have henna on my head. If you are interested look up hennaforhair online and read all about it before trying. Also know that once you go henna, it will take over a year to get the red tints out of your hair if you try to go another color. I have actually successfully gone from henna-red to blonde without frying my hair, but it took a year. I loved how it looked along the way, and went to a pro for those dye jobs, but now I am back to hennaing it myself.

Find an experienced stylist that understands reds. Red is the hardest to up keep. Also, perhaps find a stylst that is skilled in Balayage instead of just high and low lights.

and please do not henna yourself. You need to understand the subtle tones of your hair. And henna can make you go green if you are not careful. FutureMrsB is experienced.
