Change plunging neckline?

TIFFANY, on January 2, 2023 at 1:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Hey ladies!

Has anyone changed the neckline on their dress? Mine finally arrived and I got my first fitting next week and I’m unsure if the plunging neckline looks right with my smaller chest (I didn’t realize the gap would be so wide). Would it look better with more a push-up in the bra (I was looking at boombas)… or should I try to have the plunge closed more it covered?? There is like a semi-sheer illusion fabric across it and the dress already has a basic bra built in.

Wow! You look gorgeous! My vote would be to keep it as is. I didn’t notice the gap being too wide or your chest being small at all. It’s classy and beautiful. Good luck with whatever you decide!!!

I think this is beautiful but ultimately you should do what you feel most comfortable in! I know several brides who have included a mesh behind the plunge.

You look stunning!!! As a girl that’s all about modesty, I would personally put the mesh there but ultimately like everyone is advising, it’s your decision at the end of the day! It looks and will look beautiful either way! Do what you feel most comfortable in cause you don’t wanna look back on your day and wish you would have done the opposite!

I think it looks amazing! I'd keep the line of the plunge because it balances the bottom part where the skirt flares out. If it's a modesty issue, a nude mesh would work well there.

The determining factor is whether you like the plunging neckline and are comfortable with it. If you like it the way it is then don't worry about it! If you don't like it or it makes you uncomfortable, then you can probably talk to a seamstress about options. The sample dress I tried on had a neckline like that and I felt uncomfortable with it, so they ordered my dress with the neckline seamed up all the way. I would imagine a seamstress would be able to fix the plunge if you don't like it.
