So my fiance and I just found out we need to do find a new venue for our wedding. We are 6 months out from the wedding and since the plan is to get married in March, there are a ton of full places. I don't mind changing the date, it is what it is and I am fine with it. Here's my question though, we already sent out the save the dates. I double checked with my out of town guests, and they only reserved rooms, they haven't paid for anything yet. It's a small wedding, less than 100. Would it be bad to change the date this close to the wedding, even after sending the save the dates? Thanks!

Since you've already checked with out of town guests and they confirmed they have not paid for anything, I think you are okay to change the date. As long as you are pushing it back, not moving it up, you're still giving people time to plan. And you have a completely understandable reason if you are having to change venues.

It sounds like you have checked with people to ensure no one has put out any money and as long as you are not moving it up then you should be fine.

Have you booked other vendors? Catering, photographer, etc. If so, you need to check in with them first. They may not be free for another day. If you do change the date, I would send out new STDs with a note saying UPDATED date.
