Change lining in dress from champagne to white?

Marie, on May 11, 2021 at 4:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Hello all- I need advice!

1) FH is expecting a white dress. Is this white enough? Lining is champagne and lace is white. I’ve already bought it (right after we got engaged, before the white dress convo) and this is a pic from the seamstress.

2) I also like a white dress and thought about changing the lining to white from the waist down. Will the lace still show up against a white lining? I’ve included the stock photo in white (designer no longer makes this dress, I bought it in 2019).

3 I have a heat sensitivity and my seamstress recommended that we remove the lining from the mermaid flare. Colorado Wedding in August outdoors and I’m not changing it. My legs will show through the layers of tulle- is this weird? I never thought I would have a “short” wedding dress. It’s not my favorite look but it felt WAY cooler to have that heavy fabric off my legs. Should I suffer from heat and “cover my legs?”

I personally like the champagne lining the best. I don’t like it with the lining taken out, but that’s just me.

I like it with the lining, don’t take it out.

Keep the lining as is!! Personally I think it looks unfinished with the bottom skirt lining removed. And to most men this is still a white dress, so don’t worry from that aspect. Where what YOU love, it’s your dress. ❤️

Exactly as ^^ said. To most men this is white. They dont know the diff between white/ivory/champagne.

Agreed. The subtlety of shades of "white" is not something that most men notice. Unless you tell him it's white and champagne he probably would have no clue.

I would definitely not change the lining. You won’t be able to see all the detailing if the underlying fabric is white

FH is going to think this is white (as PPs said). I wouldn't remove the lining, because I wouldn't want the shadow of my legs to be seen (and I know about hot - my wedding was outside in July in Alabama)
