Champagne/prosecco/cava?? Suggestions

Grace , on June 7, 2019 at 9:26 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5

Alright so we are doing a champagne toast, but I have no idea what type to go with! I don't want it to be expensive, because we have 200 guests. I also want people to actually enjoy the taste, so I'm okay with a fruity prosecco as well. I never really drink sparkling anything, so I don't know what the people like! Help!

I would like to stay around $10 for the majority of the guests

BUT I will buy nicer bottles for family + bridal party ($40)

I would love suggestions for either category Smiley smile

My husband and I got Korbel champagne for our rehearsal dinner... they were I believe $14 per bottle, and generally you can serve 8 glasses per bottle. It's not "high quality," but it is pretty good for the price!

I would advise against getting nicer bottles for some guests and not others.... I mean, obviously your families and bridal parties are the most important but, you don't want to play blatant favoritism like that. If I were a guest that would probably rub me the wrong way. I would just serve everyone the same champagne, and if you want to do something else nice for your families and bridal parties, I'd do it at a different time!

Cava is sparkling wine from Spain, and it's made in the same style as champagne for the most part

For mimosas in the morning we bought the Kirkland brand prosecco from Costco and it was around $10 a bottle. I wouldn’t do different bottles for the family and bridal party. That might be confusing for staff and guests will be wondering what’s going on.

My hubby and I LOVE Zonin Prosecco at $6.99 at Trader Joe’s. Light than most Champagnes but not sweet. Might be about $10 if you don’t have a Trader Joe’s?

I agree with Kelly. Don’t do separate brands for guests/bridal party.
