Champagne Wall

User2574599655703, on August 13, 2019 at 12:01 AM Posted in Style and Décor 2 18
Hi, we are having a champagne wall like the pictures. However, I have so many questions!!!

•Has anyone ever had a champagne wall? What was your experience like?
•Did you fill your glasses prior to hanging them or did you leave them empty?
•Where did you get the name card for the glasses? I want a name card that will be easy to attach and won’t take much time.
•What about kids and non-drinker adults? Did you leave their glasses empty, fill it with champagne like everyone else, give them their own special sparkling grape juice or a mixture of both?

This is supposed to take the place of our seating board. But I am just super nervous about execution. They don’t seem to be big where I am from, but they are where we are getting married. If anyone could share their experience as either a bride or a guest, that would be helpful as I think through this process. Thank you.

The idea is really cool. I would probably have them empty just in case of the kids.

I would use a sparkling juice for nondrinkers/underage.
It's probably ok to have the prefilled.
As for name cards, they look as though they could be as simple as a standard escort card with slots cut to fit the glass. I'm sure you could find them precut on Etsy or another stationary site.

This is the most adorable yet boujee thing I have ever seen!!!! Love it!!! I think this is for sure a realistic thing you can accomplish. You would obviously need the wooden structure to hold all the glasses, I personally think that would be the most challenging part. Maybe they sell them on Etsy or maybe you have a handyman in your life? Other than that I might think about using plastic “glasses” just Incase anything gets dropped in process. You could either set it up ahead of time empty and wait until just before the reception and have someone fill them all up. Also with the kids/ non drinker thing, I would put a sparkling juice in the kids or even apple juice. For non drinkers I would just put the champagne in it and if they really don’t want it they will give it so someone else.
Good luck! I think that is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! You should totally do it.

Thank you. We found a vendor who will rent us the structure. We have to provide the glasses and attach the name tags. Not too demanding, but still I could see it being a little tough. Also, I love the description of “adorable yet boujee.” I feel seen.

Oh well if you already have the structure taken care of then I would it it in a heartbeat. That other stuff is easy! Even if you couldn’t find name tags with the slits in then you can always cut them yourself. And thank you! I like to think of myself as creatively descriptive 😝

That is such an incredible idea and my FW will not be happy that I read this post. lol I would put sparkling cider for non-drinkers but would definitely take age into consideration for little ones. So maybe fill glasses for age x and up, but not for the younger ones.

I absolutely love this idea! So creative and such a great alternative to a seating board. I feel like getting the structure would be the biggest thing to figure out. But since you got that, the rest should go much easier from there!

We are having the champagne wall as well. Our venue is providing the glasses and the champagne and sparking wine. We are having 2 walls. One for champagne the other will be only sparkling. There will be an attendant to help guest determine which is which.

Our wall will actually be used prior to our ceremony. As they walk in, they will be encouraged to grab a glass. Because our ceremony is outdoors, the champagne is only be filled right before we start letting guest into the ceremony site. And we will be doing "champagne top covers" to keep bugs out. Purchasing from Etsy.

That is amazing. We're doing something similar but not a wall...Pinterest calls it "sip and seat" with escort cards. Will be used at cocktail hour prior to going into the reception area to help our guests find their seats. I do love the wall structure...I know it will look beautiful.

Having a champagne wall myself, you can see the one my dad made for me on my page. I am putting up the glasses with the champagne so my guest can grab them as they come in. Im not doing guest cards so for that I wouldnt know. but when i saw that idea on pinterest, my dad and I decided to make it Smiley heart

I love this idea! I’m thinking of using this for my wedding. My question is: what are your opinions on the following- either:
Using this right inside the entrance of the venue as a welcome drink / escort card on the glass station (so guests will have prior to ceremony)... OR have a separate welcome drink station with an attendant where guests can choose what refreshment they’d like if any, and then using the champagne wall closer to the bar at the venue with the escort card on the glass (then they could grab after the ceremony and prior to sitting down for dinner). Maybe I’m over thinking the placement... but just wondering how would be best received / work logistically.
    Thanks!
