Champagne vs Dusty Rose

Stephanie, on February 8, 2021 at 2:11 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
I’m having a hard time deciding on bridesmaid dress color. I’m torn between champagne or dusty rose. The guys will be in black/black suits so I think the champagne would compliment them well but I’m not sure how they would look on my bridesmaids skin tones. The dusty rose is pretty but I’m not really a pink girl. What are your thoughts? Would it be weird to have a mixture of both? I’ve seen it done with other colors before but not these two.

Are you on Azazie? I loved their dusty rose color! We were originally going to go with champagne dresses from Azazie but the pictures looked more yellow to me on the website. The dusty rose was my back up originally, and we were and still are doing black tuxedos!

I missed the part of you asking if a mixture would be pretty - I LOVE a mix match bridesmaids look! My bridesmaids are completely different silk and satin dresses and colors in the same color scheme - pink, burgundy, red etc.

If you are going to mix and match, I would get a good look on the actual color of the dress. The dusty rose color would be beautiful with a champagne or taupe!

Go with the color that matches your bridesmaids skin tones! Black suits will match with anything.

If mixing is a possibility, I'd def. recommend getting fabric swatches of the colors you're wanting so you have a tangible example to look at! Colors are always distorted depending on what device you're looking at.

If it's down to one color then I'd choose champagne! I personally like that color paired with black, plus, I feel like dusty rose is a little overdone! Just make sure that shade goes well with everyone's skin tone!

Ivory, or the palest of pinks, or any soft pink like dusty rose, are far more flattering to light or pale complections, and lighter hair colors. The amount of yellow tint in champagne, or sometimes a pale brown undertone, makes these people look ill, or colorless and washed out. It is difficult to make them up without starting with a white with a touch of pink foundation. Champagne is nice on very tan, brown, or reddish brown skin, and strong deep brown and black hair. I have always liked dusty pink. But after 4 years of everything blush pink, or rose gold, I find I am drawn to what Azazie calls Sunset

The same complaint I have about the champagne, too yellowy for pale skin and hair.

I love dusty rose. That color is even in my dress.

Such great information, my girls all have lighter completion so I think champagne might not look the best. The sunset is a beautiful color too!

I would go with the dusty rose only because pink and red tones tend to make people look really healthy versus the champagne or beige color which sometimes against certain skin tones can make you look very drawn

Never decide on dress colors without everyone trying them on first. Not all colors are flattering across the board. Some people can't wear browns/ivory and others cannot wear pink shades.
