Champagne shoes with a white dress?

Laura, on July 15, 2020 at 11:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

A lot of the shoes I love don't come in white. I do have a white pair as a back up. But my FH is wearing a white dress shirt, champagne vest and tie, and brown shoes. I'll be in white (I think - I might switch to blush)… oh Covid - but if I wear white will champagne work?

Am I off base by treating champagne like an elegant nude option that feels a bit metallic?

If they’re for your shoes I think it’s fine that they’re champagne

Wear whatever you love. Most guests won't notice if shoes are a shade or two off from your dress.

They would be for mine. We're only have 5 people. He and I - and our 3 boys. So, I'm the only girl. I could also do a peach color, but that's been hard to find too! Our colors are gray, peach, and champagne. I just look sallow in ivory so I chose white. Ivory would have been so much easier. lol!!

I'm wearing a high low dress -they'll be totally visible. That's my only worry. I was just thinking if he can wear champagne with white - why can't I? lol!

Champagne is totally a neutral. It'll look fine.

Even if they're visible, most shades are similar enough (in the same color family) that people will not register that they are (or aren't) intentionally identical. 5 minutes after seeing it, it's a non issue..if they even pay attention in the first place. Generally the only people who will even notice a difference in shade are interior decorators and brides in the planning process and even then most of the time it's not that glaring. For everyone else, the shades are not different enough to focus on (like if you had orange shoes and a green dress as an example). Don't overthink it.

See... I was kind of liking the idea of a similar color on all of us since there will only be 5 of us there... So, this is a mockup. My bonus son is as tall as his dad while my sons and I are almost the same height. But - I think this is pretty! Especially for the end of summer beginning of fall at 5:30 in the evening with photos during that twilight hour. These are the shoes I like. 109798698_922452821588035_31961959250782108382978_282114823116674_19053738159285

This must be where my graphic design past is coming into play - plus I have had to reschedule a lot and I have burn out over making choices - like choice exhaustion. I don't want to decide another thing. But - my date is in 2 months and I really need to pull an outfit together. It seems like it's really going to happen!

I'm thinking no belt, nothing... just dangle earrings to mimic the detail on the shoes. Would that be odd?

I don’t think so, but I’m also only a fan of belts in certain circumstances where something is really needed to define the waist. I like one statement piece over a large necklace and large earrings.

I think so too - and it seems funny that shoes would be the statement piece. But with a high low - that's where the interest is. I'm starting to have fun with this again - it's been so long since things were fun! Smiley heart Thank you for answering all my silly questions....

If he’s wearing white and champagne then I say totally do it! It’ll coordinate and I think the shoes will compliment your dress! Who says everything has to be all matchy-matchy?

I'm so not a risktaker. I'm not sure I've ever worn shoes that didn't match my pants. Unless it was heels with jeans. I think it's time I had more fun with my style choices!!! Smiley heart

LOL that’s too funny! I always wear shoes that are a different color than my pants except black...I usually wear black with black. I think it’s definitely time to experiment!

I literally have no memory of the bride's shoes for any wedding I've attended. As long as they aren't audacious I bet nobody will even notice.

My dress is a high low. So my shoes will totally be visible in every photo etc. See? I'm also thinking they'd be a fun focal point. Smiley smileChampagne shoes with a white dress? 1

The champagne shoes will look really good with his champagne vest! Just imagine how in sync you'll look in photos. As a guest that's something I would notice and remember, just because it shows you thought of all the little details. Love those shoes by the way! My shoes are also champagne (but no one will actually see them). lol
