Ceremony Time

Crystal, on April 15, 2020 at 12:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

This just came to my mind....

We will be getting married on a Friday! What is the most common time for Ceremonies and reception/dinner on a Friday!?

I have never been to a Friday wedding. However, I would assume most would be evening weddings beginning around 6:00 p.m.

It will depend on the timing your venue gives you (some have noise ordinance restrictions that means everything needs to be wrapping up by 10pm, others will let you party into the early morning!) but here’s the sample timing my venue gave me for a Friday night:
10am: Venue opens for bride and groom to start getting ready
3pm-5pm: Set up time (an hour and a half of this time will be used for the photographer to take first look photos and group photos)5-5:30pm: Ceremony5:30-6:30pm: Cocktail hour6:30-11pm: Reception11-12an: Clean up

I agree with PPs that if you can start something preferably 5:30pm and beyond but more like after 6pm, then that's ideal.

I've only been to one Friday wedding, they started at 3pm which was a tad annoying if I'm being honest. It was 2 hours from where I live so I couldn't just take a half day from work.
