Ceremony Time-invitations

Future Mrs. Cwik, on August 10, 2019 at 3:31 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 15
We are having a mega short ceremony- 5:45-6 (including us walking down the aisle. We don’t play around). Should the invite time be 5:30 or 5:45?

I think 530 is ok because you don't usually start on the dot anyway. I had mine at 5 but we definitely didn't start til 510 or so

545 should be the time on invite.

If the wedding starts at 5:45, your invitation should state 5:45. People know they should show up before a start time. Most wedding I attend, guests usually arrive 15-25 minutes beforehand.

I would say 5:30 because we just got married and the invite said 5:30. Several people were late and one even walked in after the bridal party processional before my dad and I walked down. It was a little weird.

If your ceremony is starting at 5:45, your invitations should say that your ceremony is starting at 5:45. Most people arrive early to weddings. I would be extremely annoyed if I showed up 15-30 minutes early for a 5:30 ceremony that didn’t actually begin until 5:45. If people aren’t courteous enough to arrive on time, let them miss the ceremony. Their problem, not yours.

It should say 5:30. We will start at 730 and I should have put 7:15 on the invite. I wish I had put 7:15 because we will start on time. And my people are always on CP time ugghhhhh lol

Wedding invites should have the exact time of the wedding unless there’s a reason they should be there earlier. We are getting married at 5:30 and having our guests come at 5 because we are having an open bar for that half hour so they can grab a drink before

I'm putting on our website and maybe the invitation that seating begins at 6 and the ceremony at 6:30 to try to encourage arriving earlier.

Thanks everyone! Great points all around. I kept seeing invite times and start times different which threw me off.

5:45 - don't trick and penalize your punctual guests. If i was attending a wedding that started at 5:30, i'd be there between 5 and 5:15. Super annoying to get there so early for a wedding that doesn't actually start til 5:45. Please don't do that to people.
