Ceremony Steps

Future Mrs. B, on August 10, 2020 at 7:30 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
Hi,

Can someone explain in detail how the ceremony is supposed to go? I’ve been to like 7 weddings, but feel like I can’t really remember all that happens? Does the DJ play songs up until the wedding processionals? Is there a scheduled time of when the officiant and groomsmen are supposed to be standing down at the alter or how does that work?
Thanks!

Typically, yes there are appointed times/timelines of when things should be happening.

Start with when you want/have your start time set and back up about 30min to an hour for guest arrival where you can have music playing.
Depending on your wedding party or via people who will walk and stand with you, there's some helpful information on pinterest for processional order as well

Every wedding is different but most follow a similar timeline. You can stray from the timeline and everything will be fine.

Djs typically only play ceremony music at a nonreligious ceremony held at the same location as the reception. Otherwise church musicians takecare ofit. Music starts 30 mins before the time on the invite as guests arrive and are seated. During that time, the bridesmaids and groom enter. The officiant and groom typically enter at at the start of the 30 minute window.
The dj and officiant do these things multiple times every weekend.
You practice during the rehearsal the night before.
