Ours starts at 6:30 and will only last about 20 min or so, the reception is at the same location.

Cassie: Attire and possibly venue, NOT time of day, dictate how formal a wedding is.

I've attended very formal wedding ceremonies in the morning or late afternoon. I remember one church ceremony that began at noon where the groomsmen had top hats, tails and canes Smiley smile

Putting a quarter hour on the invite doesn't fool anyone. They assume you're going to start 15 minutes later. Even 7:00 on a Friday probably won't make any significant difference over 6:30. People are probably still going to have to take some time off if they work.

My advice is to pick a time and then do everything possible to start on time. Lie to your shuttle busses, lie to your perpetually late family, schedule photographers, MUA's and hair with plenty of time and discipline yourself to be on schedule.
