Ceremony start time vs dress code

Lauren, on September 22, 2021 at 3:18 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 2 4

I really want my ceremony to start a sunset in March of next year. (Alabama in March) We're having an outdoor ceremony near a windmill but it's very casual so would it be a big deal if it's a 5:30pm start time with a casual dress code? I know the older crowd recommends night time ceremony is considered "fancy".

It's completely up to you, I don't see a problem with you having a casual dress code as long as the wedding itself is casual. Just know that with a casual dress code that people could come wearing jeans and a T-shirt. If that's something you wouldn't mind then go for it. Otherwise you may want to up it to cocktail attire or even business casual.

Thank you! The guys, including the groom, are wearing like a dark wash jean so that's fine with us.

Not all older generations adhere to that belief. For many, the dress code should only be listed if it is black or white tie required by the venue for entry. Think the Oscars for example. When there is no dress code required by the venue, the default is semi formal which the large majority are , and covers everything from sundresses to prom gowns for women and suits for men . Be aware that if you specify casual, you will get jeans and tshirts.
