Ceremony song? Yes/no

Katelin, on June 23, 2019 at 5:34 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 13
I’m kind of torn between having a ceremony song or not. I do not want to spend money on a band to perform for a few minutes...one of my SIL uses a Bluetooth speaker and had a family member in control of it. Another SIL didn’t have anything as the bridal party walked.
I don’t feel like it’s absolutely necessary but I’m also not very traditional 🤷🏼‍♀️
What are your opinions?

We have a DJ. I'm definitely having music to set the mood as my attendants and I walk and also for our exit.
I'm using songs that the words have special meaning to us.
    It's romantic to me. ❤

Our DJ is doing ceremony and reception. They didn't cost extra for that. I think music sets the tone. There is usually background music while the guests get seated. It provides ambience. Then, the music signifies when the processional starts. People know to stop talking when the music switches and the bridesmaids start walking down the aisle, and they know to stand when the music switches to the bride's entrance. I think a Bluetooth speaker would suffice.

Oooh good thinking ladies! I haven’t hired a DJ yet but I just assumed they wouldn’t cover the ceremony as well. I’ll definitely look into it!

I’m planning on using a bluetooth speaker for our wedding but my ceremony will be a friend of mine playing the guitar as everyone walks down! I think it’s overall up to you and what fits your budget. 😊

Do you have a talented friend or relative? We didn’t want to spend the money to hire a ceremony musician either, but one of my friends (who I’ve known since birth) is a really talented flutist so he played for us! He was also a guest at the wedding so it wasn’t even like we had to have an extra person, and I told him that his playing would obviously count as his gift to us. He just played the flute while we walked down the aisle and then he was a guest the rest of the day.

We hired our reception DJ to do it.
It cost us a little extra, but nothing terrible.
We could have gone with a different DJ and paid a little less, but it didnt seem worth the headache.

Our DJ is handling the ceremony music. It usually cost extra however our reception is a lunch reception which is only 4 hrs vs 5 hrs (which is there usual package) plus the ceremony is at the reception so they threw it in. A friend of ours is actually going to play Cannon D (or something like that) on his guitar when I walk down the aisle.

I saw music as a necessity, but I’m also the kind of person that can’t even get ready in the morning without music playing in the background. Like PP said, if you had a friend that can play or sing, you could do something like that inexpensively! We hired a husband & wife couple to do our live ceremony music. They sing and play the piano, guitar, and cello!

Our DJ is handling the ceremony music, at no extra charge. Ceremony and Reception are at the same place.
