Ceremony Site Decoration Ideas

Alisha, on April 14, 2020 at 4:21 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

Hello Ladies,

I am here to seek for any suggestions on how to decorate this site. We pick a non-traditional church to have our ceremony. Picture below is the site the day of my visit.

The volunteer showed me around, and explained to me the chairs can be organized in any orders I like (so we will just do regular rows). However we will have a lot of empty chairs due to the size of our wedding.

Here is the question.... How should I decorate the chairs, to make it obvious for the guests to sit near the front (like putting ribbons to block the walk way to the back few rows?)

Wait other decorations will you use to make this site more "heartwarming" and looks like it's a wedding?

Thanks!

I would like the chairs that you won’t be using against either wall in two parallel lines and put the chairs im using in the center in a slanted v formation. With ribbons or chair covers. So it’ll look like. l v l

Can you move out the extra chairs? Or put them to the side and cover them? I’d say it’d be worth finding another room to haul them to for the ceremony. That’s a beautiful area and the pics will be pretty with that wooden floor. Are you bringing in or making an altar? That’d be a good way to spice up the front of the room. Maybe look into ordering chair covers too? Regardless I don’t think you’d have to do an awful lot because like I said it’s a beautiful space 😍

I would play around with how you design the rows. Not every row has to have the same number of chairs. Also spacing them out more could make it look more full. I think adding features like large potted plants or fabric hanging from the ceiling, can make a space seem more intimate.

Jazz it up with some tulle bows on chairs, some greenery to create an aisle with rose pedals sprinkled. You can rent an arch or candle stands, etc from Hobby Lobby. You’d be surprised what the rent

I would go to Pinterest and look at church wedding aisles. See if anything pops out that fits your theme. You could do any number of things with the space. Chair covers, panorama chair placement or curved, flowers on the ends, a aisle runner. I am doing lantern/candle groupings and signs down my aisle I think. Something to mimic and Idea i loved on pinterest. Good luck. Beautiful space!

Maybe some candle/floral arrangements along the aisle if it’s wide enough.

Cover the ceiling would do alot! I would definitely move the extra chairs elsewhere to another room if you can, and space out the remaining chairs . Chair covers would help to cover the dizzying pattern, other than that fill the space how you would like, with plants, signs, statues, ect, whatever you think will be great. I guess I'm suggesting is blank out the space and then decorate it to your guys tastes. The lighting is amazing, and it's very malleable decorative wise.

Have the extra chairs stacked away against the wall. This should not be an issue for them.

They definitely look like stackable chairs and should be easy to move the extras out of the way. I've honestly never seen my church decorated very much for the weddings I've attending. Usually tulle draped on the railing that's in front of the choir loft, some bows at the end of the pews (no chairs in my sanctuary). Those are really the main things I remember. But it's also part of why I wanted outdoors. The main reason is that I just absolutely love the outdoors and nature, but also because it's automatically decorated pretty well by nature.
