Ceremony Singer

Erika, on June 19, 2020 at 11:33 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5

Hello,

So my wedding is a non-denominational wedding and my mom insisted that we have a singer during the ceremony. Our ceremony is not going to be at a church and will be outside (same place our reception is at). I find it kind of awkward honestly and don't know how to picture it because I've never been to a wedding with a singer being outside. My mom and other family members are insisting that it will be nice so I'm going for it! lol

So guess my question is.. brides that have had singers sing at their ceremony, when did you have them sing during the ceremony?

I was thinking possibly when people are getting seated before the ceremony starts and then possibly while my fiance and I do the unity candle? Thoughts??

Any help would be appreciated. I just want it to flow as much as possible and not be weird. lol Thanks in advance!!

The last wedding i went to there were singers during the ceremony and they had them sing while guests were getting seated and they had them sing the processional song.

a song during the unity candle is a good idea

I’ve seen it done several times during, right before, or right after the unity ceremony. If you do it during the prelude most people won’t listen.

If it’s a particular song that’s meaningful and you would like your guests attention more to it, then I would have it during the ceremony somehow, not while guests are seating. The majority of the weddings I’ve been to had someone sing something. Usually it was during the unity candle, or I’ve even seen it done singularly, with nothing else happening. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding where the bride originally wanted a friend to sing as the bride was walking down the aisle, but I think the bride was able to convince her to sing at a different time because we thought it would pull attention away from the bride.
