Ceremony programs, deceased parents

Trina Marie , on September 21, 2016 at 10:51 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

Help... my parents are deceased & my uncle is escorting me down aisle. How do I list him & my aunt in program? I can't seem to find any template for this.

"The bride's uncle [insert name here] will be giving the bride away/escorting the bride." Optional, add "in place of/in honor of the bride's deceased father" to the end?

I'm taking a wild swing here. Also, so sorry for your loss.

I just read "together the families of (your name) daughter of the late mr. And mrs. (Your parents) along with (your aunt and uncle) welcome you to the marriage to (your FH) son of (his parents).

I'm torn as to phrasing as they're like "honorary parents" for my wedding with my uncle walking me down aisle.

I feel like people will understand that. You'd only give the honor of walking you down the aisle to someone you were extremely close to.

However, this is one of those few times that it's really your day, your choice. Whatever feels right and is grammatically correct.

I just put "uncle of the bride" and on back there is a "in remembrance" section
