Ceremony Music: Live or Dj?

Kaitlyn, on January 16, 2020 at 5:21 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6

Ive heard many many comments about ceremony music at weddings. Is it better to hire someone who can play it live, or hire a dj who can easily put the instrumental on while the bride walks down the aisle? What do you think?

I personally prefer DJs. I just think weddings with DJs are more fun.

I had live music for the ceremony because I think it’s more emotional and beautiful and then a dj for the reception so we could dance.

I think all the weddings I’ve been to have had a DJ or someone from the venue playing music via the sound system for the ceremony. I will be having a string quartet for our wedding, but that’s only because we are getting married outside and the venue has no outdoor sound system, otherwise I wouldn’t have chosen live music. Although it will be absolutely beautiful and romantic, it’s also an additional cost, and you forfeit having any lyrics to the music.

For the ceremony, I think either way works! We had a live guitarist play for our ceremony, but then had a DJ play during the reception.

I decided today on a live violinist - there is a lot of emotion with live music IMO.

I feel the same way. especially with the violin, such a sentimental instrument
