Ceremony Music- Harp? Piano/Violin??

Jessica, on September 7, 2011 at 9:25 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Me and my FH are butting heads on the ceremony music. Has anyone had/ will have a harp or a piano/violin duo and really liked either one? We are having an outdoor wedding under a patio.

I really want the HARP!!! He CAN'T decide but hates the plain piano and keeps saying different opinions. Oh, and he hates the harp. What to do?

I love the harp too! We finally decided on a harp and violin for our outdoor ceremony. My fiance listened to a lot of the different combinations on youtube, so maybe if you let him hear the options he'll change his mind!

We are having a harpist. We are paying him; however, I mentioned that I wanted a trio (piano and violin) and he has offered to have 2 of his best students (he teaches music) to also play at the wedding. It will be free because they are wanting experience. Super excited!

I don't know.....there are so many options for ceremony music; what about a guitarist? What if the harpist played something contemporary instead of classical?

My FH hated the idea of having a harpist play at our ceremony. He thought it was a total waste of money... until he heard her play Bruno Mars, Van Morrison, Train and some other popular music. She's playing at our ceremony and cocktail hour! She's even going to learn to play one of his favorite songs. The harp sounds amazing!!! See if the harpist can play music that he likes, it might change his mind. Good Luck!!

We booked the harp player pretty much before anything else. lol We went to a bridal show and she was there performing and my future mother-in-law and I both got emotional listening her play. I absolutely could see myself walking down the aisle to him. I knew then that we had to have her! We are also having an outdoor wedding on a terrace.

Will there be room for a piano? What if weather doesn't cooperate (harder to keep a harp dry than a violin).
