Ceremony Layout

Lala, on August 6, 2016 at 12:08 PM Posted in Planning 1 4

Now that the venue layout is done, I'm working on the ceremony layout. Here is the layout of chairs so far (Bride, Groom, and Officiant stand).

When I was in the Philippines for some weddings, something I liked was instead of having the parents, sponsors, and bridemaids/groomsmen occupy the first three rows of seating, they have their own special seating up front. We decided to do something similar for this wedding, and it allows everyone to sit down!

Thoughts? My main concern is whether the aisle is wide enough after accounting for the pumpkins. Right now I have it at 7 feet. My mom and dad are both are walking me down the aisle, and my FMIL and FFIL are walking my FH.

A concern brought up by my BM is that because of my FMIL's dress (https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/mother-of-groom-dress/04ce5b1f8b48354d.html?page=1), the down the aisle photos may look somewhat "clashy". Looking at videos of past weddings with the setup, you can't really see anything sitting in chairs in down the aisle shots.

Plus at this point I don't care if my photos are clashy.

    Copied from here: http://vowsandhows.com/filipino-veil-cord-coin-ceremony/

"A traditional Filipino wedding ceremony involves several smaller ceremonies within in it, each with very deep spiritual meaning. Couples often include one or more of the following: a special veil, a cord (or lasso) and arras (coins)."

    The Veil

"It’s a special square veil designed to go over the groom’s shoulders and the bride’s head. This veil represents everything and everyone who will protect them, their home and their families."

    The Cord (Lasso)

"It’s a long cord in the shape of a figure 8 (infinity), often with a rosary attached, that goes around the wedding couple’s shoulders. It is a symbol of their intimate union and a sign of their bond to each other, and their inseparable unity."

I'm not very good spatially for aisle width but I think the layout looks good and those traditions sound really neat!
