Ceremony is at 5pm when should i start getting my hair and makeup done ?

Are you doing a first look and photos before your ceremony? Is there travel time from where you're going makeup to the ceremony site?

At first glance it does seem a few hours too early.

That seems very early. I’d be afraid my hair would fall and I’d smear my makeup. I started everything at 9am for a 2pm ceremony.

That does seem a little early. How many people will the hair and makeup team need to work on? If you have a lot of people getting hair and makeup done, then starting that early makes sense, but the bride should have hers done either last or close to last. What time will your first look be at?

This isn't common but at my sister's wedding (at which I was a bridesmaid), my sister/the bride was actually the last to get her makeup done. It was a 4:30 ceremony I think, and she got her makeup done from 1:30 to 2:30 or so, after all of the other bridesmaids' makeup was done. We then proceeded to the bridal party pictures.

I think this was because she didn't want to be sitting all day in the makeup and false lashes. I admit it's not common to do the bride very last for makeup, but I've seen it done and there were no problems so just wanted to open you to the idea that you don't have to do it super early

I recomend counting the hours backward for when you should get your make up.
I schedualed my hair and make up at 10:30, and now thinking I should have schedualed it later.
8:00 Desert and dancing
7:45 Golden hour portraites- depends on time of year
7:00 Dinner
6:30 first dance
5:30 Family Photos
5:00 Wedding Ceremony
4:45 Doors open
3:30 first look
1:00 wedding party helps set up decorations while I get my hair make up and dress on.
12:00 lunch with the wedding party for lunch as thanks for coming early to help set up

1 you will have plenty of chances to take pictures with your husband.
2 you will take photos during the wedding
