Ceremony Help

Steph, on July 24, 2020 at 8:19 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7
We live and south Florida and due to the virus here we are just having a ceremony at our Church.
Does anyone have any suggestions about to help make it a little more special for the guest like decor or gifts etc?
Also do you think it’s nicer to have 1 violin player during the ceremony or just having music playing during the ceremony ?

A violin player sounds really nice actually!
Could you host anything after the ceremony? Like cake and punch at least?

I agree with PP that you should host at least a cake and punch reception. If it’s in the budget, personal touches like programs or favors can make the event feel more “you.” I think that live music is always better than a recording.

Have cake and punch afterwards at the very minimum. Skip favors for guests. The music is your choice based on what the church allows. Decorate how you would otherwise.

It would be nice if you could to say thank you to everyone afterwords and maybe have some drinks and cupcakes. But if that's off the table, I agree that programs would be nice. If it's small, I would also say you should go for a nice favor or even a favor bag with some things for your guests to enjoy. Everyone likes candy and other treats, a tiny bottle of champagne or liquor, a bag of coffee or tea, anything that is special to you and FH. Or if it's in the budget, you could get something that anyone would like, like a Yeti, a baseball cap, a fleece blanket. Definitely have a photographer who maybe could get a shot of people outside--people LOVE a nice picture of them and their family/SO

If you're going to have guests, I'd recommend using those funds on something for the guests after the ceremony. Like cake! A cake and punch reception would be ideal. People would much rather celebrate with you over cake and punch than receive a gift

If you don't have a big crowd, you can give each person flowers (boutoniere/courage) to make them feel honored a little bit. If you can do any kind of mini (socially distanced) reception, even if it's just tiny bottles of champagne and individually packaged cupcakes in a park for like 20 minutes, I think people would appreciate being able to celebrate with you.
And I think having 1 violin is nicer than just playing music.
