Ceremony chair etiquette?

Lau’Ren, on January 13, 2020 at 4:21 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
I know that full on standing receptions are in poor taste but can someone critique my set up. Looking to get married in a public park. Will like have roughly 20 guests in attendance. The park has stationary benches (6/7 that can fit 3 people each. Problem is the benches are stationary and can’t be moved. Having a small 10/15 minute ceremony and I’m wondering if it makes sense to just allow our guests to use the benches until our officiant makes the announcement for the ceremony to begin? Is this still poor etiquette or should we rent chairs as well, keep in mind we would also need to arrange transport.

I would definitely rent ample seating for everyone in attendance.

You should rent a chair for every guest.

I would rent chairs, especially since it's in June. You don't want someone locking their knees or getting overheated and passing out during the ceremony!

You are right! I didn’t even think about the weather. Yeah standing in heat is a no! Will just need to adjust the budget, thank you!

No problem! We are also having our ceremony in a park and ran into the issue of needing to rent chairs. We found that most came in between $1.30-3 (for the nicer ones). Hope this helps!
