Ceremony at the Dinner Tables?

The location that I have for the reception is also that place I would like for the ceremony. I asked if it would be possible to have the ceremony at the site with just chairs, a cocktail hour in the adjacent hall, and then the reception back in the same location. They told me it would be possible, but the setting up of tables with the linens, centerpieces, chairs, etc would probably take over an hour. Their suggestion was to have the ceremony elsewhere on site, but I've wanted to get married there for the past 6 years. Would it be horrible to have guests sit at the dinner tables? The cocktail hour could still be elsewhere, but it could also be in the same space. Thoughts?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you all! I will talk to them about having them pre-set elsewhere, and then moved in after the ceremony while the guests are having cocktail hour somewhere else. Thank you!

If they can't flip the room in an hour, they need to bring in extra staff to help.

I've also officiated several weddings where the guests were seated at their tables -- no problems.

I nixed every venue that would have people sit at their tables for the ceremony. To me it looks cheap af

I don't see why they can't have the tables set with the linens and then add the glasses, silverware and centerpieces during the cocktail hour...

I went to a wedding where they had chairs setup for everyone and the tables were setup but on the sides. So there was still am aisle for the ceremony and all that. Can they just have tjem setup beforehand and on the sides?

They say a flip will take an hour. That should be fine, because you would have cocktail hour to do the flip. They should be able to handle this.
