Ceremony at a Restaurant

Is it stupid to have a wedding ceremony at a room we would be renting out at a "saloon" restaurant? The whole wedding in itself is non-traditional as it's the 2nd marriage for both of us so we want small and private, but I don't want a court house wedding. This place already has the country/western feel that I want and it's our go-to place for date nights so it's not just a random place that doesn't mean anything to us. I'm just worried about what our families will think when the invites have a wedding ceremony at a restaurant.

Great, Amanda. My son told his sister that he was so glad they decided to forego the courthouse wedding and do a restaurant ceremony and reception. He said, "I didn't realize how much I would have missed without that nervous feeling while waiting for her to show up, at the top of the stairs in her gown while holding her bouquet. I'll never regret doing it this way."

Restaurant weddings and receptions are not consolations -- they are just smaller weddings that are every moment a wedding. I can tell you, his wedding was fabulous.
