Ceremony and reception together

Zulema, on May 20, 2018 at 9:36 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
Ladies, I need ideas as to how to set up my wet vanue. I am having the ceremony and reception at the same place. The vanue is really big so it has space to put the chairs in rows as if it was a ceremony at a church but I'm a bit nervous as to what to do. Should I set up the dance floor with the run way and chairs or should of have my tables set up already and just use the dance floor to set up the aisle and run way but have all my gust sitting down at their tables? If so how should I organize the tables so everyone can see? 😔

I prefer setting up rows of chairs. I think it looks more organized.

I think it depends on if you have time/space/people to change it over if you’re in the same room. I’d love the chairs separately but without a DOC and a crew to change everything quickly its not possible.

That may be what I am doing we are going to put the tables on either side of the aisle. We are putting the cake on the left side of the stage and the bride/groom table on the right side. Leaving the center for the ceromony.

If you have the room I would set up chairs in rows for the ceremony. I have been to weddings where the guests were seated at their tables and it was fine. There are however some guests who have to turn their chairs around to see.

After the ceremony you can have cocktail hour in another space- a vestibule, patio, hallway, or even in the table area while the staff remove the ceremony chairs if they are extra, or move them to the tables. It doesn't take that long (depending on the size of your guest list).

My venue will be like yours! Im paying for the chairs in aisles and behind the aisle there will be chairs and tables and the dance floor and everything else! But if you don’t have that much room or time to switch things around, the tables and no aisle is the best way to go! I’ve been to a few wedding like that and it was perfectly fine!

If you have the space, set up chairs in rows for the ceremony, at one end of the space.

If you have the space and money, have double chairs, so no chairs need to be moved for the reception.

My son/dil had this setup for their wedding, and it was great to have everything in one place.

Hi Zulema! I think it would appear better to set up the chairs in rows! Smiley smile
