Centerpieces

Marian, on October 7, 2018 at 10:54 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12
So I have already picked out my floral centerpieces but now my mother thinks I should have cupcake bouquet as centerpieces. I thirsts an ok idea but I just like having flowers better. Please help on ideas of maybe combining both.

My issue with the cupcakes is the sanitary issues I know that there are people who would have issues other people touching their cupcakes. Any assistance on how to handle my mom would be appreciated or ideas for the centerpieces. Thanks

I would just tell her what you said here. I’m not sure you could combine them easily.

Well she thinks I shouldn’t have flower in the centerpieces and just have the cupcakes as the centerpieces

Those are pretty but look very unsanitary. The way they're arranged it looks nearly impossible not to touch other cupcakes to get one. That alone would be a big turn off for me.

If you don't want to have cupcakes for your centerpieces then don't. I've noticed this far that there are a few things my mom likes but I don't necessarily want at my wedding. Even though she's helping to pay for certain things, I still want her to respect that this is my wedding and I appreciate all of her ideas and suggestions even if I don't go with them.

I think they'll go to waste honestly. I'd stick with flowers!

Very pretty. Doesn't seem feasible or sanitary.

That picture is so pretty I've never seen a bouquet like that!

But I definitely don't think a guest would actually eat a cupcake off of that, especially when they've been in the open air for however long your room was set up, plus it looks impossible to grab one without touching others.

Also, if a guest is unsure if they are really flowers or not they would touch it to find out. There's a lot of touching going on with these centerpieces and I wouldn't want to eat one.

You're totally right in your sanitary concerns and should just tell her that.

Stick with flowers! I’m sure your original idea will still be beautiful! As a guest though, I definitely wouldn’t eat from there because of the sanitary issues....and i LOOOOOVE cake/cupcakes. Maybe you could set up a sweets/desert table and find a cute way to display the cupcakes? I’m sure Pinterest will have some ideas!

While they are adorable, I would not be a fan of actually eating one of those. How do you even get them out of there? And just sitting out in the open for hours? Would they even be fresh anymore?

I am not sure how to talk her out of that one, but I would be trying to figure out a way. Maybe say it's July and you are afraid the frosting would melt in transport? Lol

    Hello.

I love the flower centerpieces. Cupcakes can be a tricky thing. I thought about that too. But, being so many other things may be on the table they may get knocked down and messed up. My mother wanted to change alot of things also. I just told her no, I didnt like the idea. All final decisions are made by me..unless she was paying...lol

Hi Marian! Did you ever figure out if you're going to use flowers or cupcake arrangements for your wedding centerpieces?
