Ok so I've been going back and forth on whether to do a rustic theme or a tropical theme for the wedding. So I tried to make a rustic centerpieces but my future mother in law thinks its to fall looking. When I think of rustic I think more fall colors. What do you guys think about these centerpieces?
I agree with your future mother-in-law that they look like centerpieces for a fall wedding.

That’s definitely very fall. I think you could keep the wood and pick more summery colors/flowers and still get a rustic vibe. I’d look at Pinterest for ideas, rustic definitely does not have to be fall. I would go wildflowers for summer rustic.

Thank you, I'll have to check out pinterest for ideas. I don't know why but my head always draws a blank when I think of rustic.

I agree, it definitely screams Fall (which I personally love!!) But, if YOU are wanting to avoid them looking too Fall-like, then there are lots of ways to incorporate the wood and the darker “Fall” colors you said you like. Here are just a few examples:
If you are wanting to change colors altogether, you can always lighten them up a bit...

Love those! You can find silk tropical floral garlands/bunches at Joann or Michael's

I think they do look pretty fallish. If you're torn between rustic and tropical, it'll be easier to make tropical look summery. If you really want to go rustic, I think it's okay to use the fall colors in August, but I'd avoid using fall specific items. The tree stump works, but fallen leaves and pinecones are kind of the epitome of fall. You could use flowers instead of the leaves, add some candles or fairy lights, and some branches or twigs to make it feel more rustic.
If you decide to go with the rustic, I would aim for textures and neutrals with pops of color. Think burlap, wood, metal, wire, twine and maybe some lace or candles. Probably avoid leaves unless they are green. The general concept of your centerpieces is super cute, it wouldn’t take much to make them less autumnal!

Thank you I will keep that in mind when I buy all my decorations. This will help me out. I made a new centerpiece what do you think? Obviously it is just a rough idea when it gets closer to the wedding we will have better twigs and we plan on putting them more in the middle.
