Centerpieces under $10 , is that even possible !

FutureMrsKing, on June 25, 2014 at 2:01 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 31

I set a budget of $150 for 15 tables for centerpieces. Is that even possible ? I have been looking for ideas that won't look horrible. I have a few pics of ideas, but I'm not sure how it will look. I would like some type of flowers but I don't think that is even a option with my tiny budget.

Ask your venue. I have had my venue booked for over a year and today she asked if I would be using some of theirs or my own. Ugh I already paid for mine Smiley sad

For sure! We are just doing cylinder vases filled with water, floating candles and stones with out colors on a mirror. No more than $9 per table.

Definitely possible! Ours are less than $8/table, and I got all the supplies from Save on Crafts, Dollar Tree, and Michael's when they have sales. Oh, and some things from a rummage sale Smiley laugh

Your biggest expense will be those cylinder vases. Check you local Craigslist. You have no idea how many former brides are looking to recoup some money for items they'll never use again. Just two weeks ago, we added 20 silver plated compote vases/candle holders to our inventory for next to nothing. They came from a woman who purchased all of these things for her wedding, and she wanted them out of her spare room. With a small arrangement and three tapers, they're an elegant alternative for our budget brides.

Start looking at wedding classifieds. PSA: Be careful when purchasing the very inexpensive vases at a retail store. They look great, but if you add to much weight to the vase, the bottom will break off.

Check the dollar tree for vases. They may not have perfectly cynlindrical vases, but they probably have close to that!

Yes I got vases that look very similar from the dollar store. You can get the fruit from Hobby Lobby

Yes! We did oranges for our wedding and it ended up being about $10-11 per table since we borrowed vases and only have to buy the oranges and candles.

Yes! I am using wine bottles I've collected from wino family members - I may have too many already haha. That is FREE. Spray paint, some babies breath and tea light candles and I am definitely under $10 a table

Hobby Lobby runs their flowers 50% off every other week. On the weeks those are on sale, I get all they have. The other week, wedding supplies are 50% off so I've become a big fan of theirs. Between there and Dollar Tree, mine are averaging about $5 per centerpiece.

Sams Club sells 10 bunches of babies breath for $60 - I read through the reviews and that is plenty for all the centerpieces, possibly even bouquets.

Mine were $3.00 a table, but centerpieces were not important for me. Keep this in kind. Think back to the last wedding you were at. Do you remember what the centerpieces looked like?

I saw something (or maybe read it on here) where a bride had small cakes as centerpieces at each table instead of one big one - they were all different flavors and people were able to mingle and try different flavors during dessert. I have considered this...

I don't think they have many pinterst photos of ACTUAL simple/inexpensive centerpieces. From what I see, they still cost a lot.

I bought inexpensive fabric (8 yards) that I am cutting into 2 x 2 foot squares. I'll iron in a hem, but it should hold without any sewing. That was $7 on sale.

Adding cut-out hearts that I made with 10 sheets of scrapbooking paper and a heart-shaped 1.5 inch punch. Think "large confetti" to go on the tables.

Adding one or two small tealights and a small jam jar with either lawn grass grown in it or a votive candle (depends on if I really want to spend time growing grass in the jars). I made my example in paint because I'm a dork and can't find anything simple in pinterst.
