Centerpieces other than flowers?

Kelly, on May 27, 2020 at 11:09 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 15

I don't want to spend a lot of money on flowers, so I've decided to forgo centerpieces on the tables. Most of my guests are coming from out of town and won't be able to take them home anyway. Any suggestions for inexpensive centerpieces? I'm getting married October 10th in Phoenix.

Candles on mirrors with shiny things around them! You can use fake battery operated ones and then have those on hand if your power ever goes out lol

    Candles, fruit, etc

If you don't want to keep flowers, ask a local nursing home or funeral home if they want donations.

I did these. Mason jars, with sand and a candle and beads. But you could even just go with candles aloneCenterpieces other than flowers? 1

We used fake flowers, and created bases for them that related to our theme (baseball). The venue then put them on chargers with votive candles.

Have you considered fake flowers? They can be a lot cheaper, and you avoid allergies at the same time!

If candles are allowed, I think they’re one of the most romantic, cost-effective decoration of all time! They’d be perfect for October. Also some lanterns can go a long way.

Thrift stores usually have vases and starting your browsing there may lead you to some other ideas! It can also be fun to think about some out of the box ideas and make centerpieces different and unique for each table.
I’ve seen a lot of people put decor up for sale on Facebook Marketplace for fractions of the cost.
I always have the “less is more” mentality when looking for centerpieces! When you get peoples plates, drinks, etc, you still want them to have room to be comfortable! Can’t wait for an update of what you’re thinking Smiley smile

Vases from the Dollar Store filled with water and a fake flower head floating on top. 2-3 candles surrounding it. Should cost no more than $10 each centerpiece lol.

This is essentially what we’re doing and our wedding is November 21st. I think it really depends on the theme or look you want for your wedding. We wanted simple and fall foliage since the winery we are getting married at is elegant and pretty enough without us adding much. 🙂

Thanks, ladies, for all of these awesome ideas! I've been thinking LED candles, since the zoo doesn't allow open flames. It's a nighttime reception, so we can use the extra illumination. I like the fall foliage, too, even though it won't feel like fall (temps are still in the 90's in October!).

If the vase covers the flame with room to spare at the top, you can pass the open flame restriction. Because the flame is completely enclosed. If the flame is exposed (the vase filled to the top with water, etc and flame outside of the vase), then that is a fire hazard.

LED candles are great too. You can find them online fairly inexpensively. Shop around for the best deal.

I am definitely a "less is more" person. Everything is going to be very simple. The most important thing to me is that my guests enjoy themselves. I will probably be using candles. Lanterns are a great idea that I hadn't thought of!
