Centerpiece tweaks?

Gabriela, on October 3, 2020 at 5:30 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6
I really want fresh centerpieces, but it isn’t something I am willing to dedicate much money to. My plan is to order bulk greenery and flowers online, and put together very simple centerpiece (I know my limits).

Today I grabbed some eucalyptus and stock flowers at Trader Joe’s, and arranged them in a $1 dollar tree vase. I like the wild look so I trimmed them to be somewhat different heights.
Thoughts, as far as a DIY/cheap/simple centerpiece goes? Centerpiece tweaks? 1
It is about 17in high and 2 feet across, so fairly sizable. This would be for round tables with perhaps a few candles and burgundy tablecloths folded and laying over the edge of the tables.
My other idea is perhaps painting the vases to look like faux pink terra cotta (our colors are burgundy and pinks along with neutral ivory and champagne). Along the lines of this photo.Centerpiece tweaks? 2
Would that add to the look? I could also swap white for pink flowers.

I wouldn't make it as wide because remember people are going to be eating at the table so you don't want plants hanging all over their plates and food.

I love the wild look! I would trim it back so it doesn’t get into people’s food.

I like the look of it, but I think it is both potentially too wide and too high for a centerpiece on a 6' round table. At 2' wide, it's going to take up 1/3 of the total table diameter. That won't leave much room for the guests' placesettings/glasses/etc. Also, put the centerpiece on a table and then ask someone to sit across from your to test it out -- you don't want people trying to talk around the centerpiece to engage with the person across from them.

These centerpieces are much smaller (less than 12x12") and they filled the table that was only set for 7 guests (5' table).

This is a 6' table set for ten guests with the same centerpiece. (I can't get the photo to upload.... Smiley sad )

I love it! But I agree maybe trim it back a bit so there isn't a chance of it getting in someone's food.
