Celebration of marriage/post wedding reception

Jaelle, on August 31, 2020 at 8:54 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
Hey guys, would you still do cake cutting and couple dance/ bridal dance if you had a reception on different days?

I am planning to that and still wear big gown well, Champaign colour. It doesn't bother me.
What have you guys seen work especially with this covid, call for adjusting
Thank you!

Are you having a smaller ceremony due to Covid, and having a large reception later to celebrate with friends? I would definitely still do the cake cutting and dances if that is what you want. Your reception should feel just as it would if it were directly after you ceremony.

I'm having a minimony this year and big wedding next year. So we are still getting married this year, and even though we will probably only go out to dinner after the ceremony, I still want a pretty cake to cut, and if the restaurant permits, we might still do a first dance there, otherwise we will do it at FILs house nearby. I've come to realize you can make your minimony whatever you want it to be, even if you are doing it bigger and better next year!

If you want to do the first dance, cake cutting, etc at your reception, I say go for it! I have heard of many people that had to alter their 2020 wedding plans to doing a small ceremony this year, and a larger reception next year. You could even do the first dance, cake cutting, etc at both events: your smaller ceremony this year and then repeat it at your larger reception. I think it's awesome that you are planning to celebrate twice!

I would do cake and the dances and you can do them again at your reception next year.

Go for it! I've attended vow renewals that had cake cutting and dances and didn't see anything wrong with it.
