Ceiling drapery

Kayla, on September 22, 2018 at 3:57 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 22
Hi, I'm not getting married until 2019 in Pennsylvania. I am trying to see if anyone has rented or even bought drapery for ceiling decorations. The quote to have it done was just waaaay too high. It is a rustic wedding. Looking for skmething.like this.

It's very expensive because it requires a LOT of work in very little time. I think our quote was about $1800 to add drapery, and that's a deal from what I've seen. Luckily, our venue put it in permanently, and it's included so we don't have to worry about it anymore. Decide whether it's essential or not and see if you can cut somewhere else to find the drapery if that's what you truly want.

Well my quote was 1160, but fabric is not nearly that expensive. Hense why I was asking about renting the fabric as we can hang it on our own Smiley smile

I think less is more.....Our venue came with floor to ceiling windows....we used the natural light and the city as our back drop.....it was beautiful.....

Agree the bulk of the cost is likely for labor. Attempting to do it yourselves will likely require at least multiple ladders and more likely a scissors-lift, and many venues may not allow you to do it yourselves for liability reasons. Daughter's venue charges $1000 for a ceiling drape and a single chandelier. I'm sure they own all the materials, so the cost is for the labor to put it up and take it down again.

Again, I am asking about renting fabric please. As I said previously, we can put it up on our own.

Check with your venue to see if your allowed to DIY it
my venue does not and will only allow one specific vendor to do it.
If it's allowed, I bought rolls of tulle, 40 yards, from efavormart. It's seems pretty good quality and one of the reviews said they used it for ceiling draping. It was a pretty good deal $15 a roll. It's nice and wide too 54"

Efavormart is where I purchased all of my tablecloths as well. They're fabric is decent quality for their prices. I saved $450 buying tablecloths rather than renting them.

You could buy tulle. that would be cheap but hanging would be the hard part. Also alot od hanging drapery is against the fire code at lots of places.

Kayla, people are giving you advice, please listen. The putting it up part is not easy even if you do it yourself. Even if you have inexpensive fabric, someone will have to do the hanging, that is why people are telling you that.

To me the issue isn’t only buying the fabric but finding someone willing to volunteer to do this for you. You will need a mechanical lift for that.

No, advice is what I am asking for. 1. My venue allows us to do whatever we want. It is not against any fire code because it is a metal building and my insuenaxe foe the event covers that. I have full availability to people to hang it and put it up, like I've said multiple times. So do you have a recommendation on WHERE TO GET FABRIC, or just putting me down assuming u know me and I cant do it?

Again, I'm repeating myself. My question was. DO YOU KNOW WHERE TO BUY OR RENT FABRIC, as I said multiple times, hanging it is not a problem.

I already said you can buy tulle which is inexpensive at any fabric store. Less than $1 a yard usually 50cents a yard on sale. Dont yell at people trying to help you.
