Catholic Engaged Encounter Weekend

MrsJoseph, I really think it's one of those you get out what you put in sort of things...like i said there were definatly things about ours that weren't great...but it was a good chance to chat with FH and to have a time where the two of us were focused on improving our relationship...we didn't run into anything we hadn't talked about (and were shocked to hear what some of the couples hadn't discussed)...ours wasn't the most amazing weekend of our lives or anything, but it wasn't bad either. We enjoyed the time together and the prompting to talk about issues in our lives together.

FH and I have to attend to full day sessions, no overnights required. I think we could have chosen the overnight option, but couldn't manage the schedule. It cost more too.

I found it to be surprisingly helpful regarding potential relationship issues. There were a lot of worksheets to complete individually and then share with your partner. I didn't find it to be at all uncomfortable since it was classroom style and not very interactive.

It was awesome We really connected over the weekend and we both said that it was a really good thing for our relationship! I definitely recommend the Catholic Engaged Encounter weekend to anyone getting married, it isn't just for Catholic couples either. There were a lot of Christian/Non-Denominational couples there too. I really liked how it was set up, there was no public speaking expected from us and the only time there was an open discussion it was completely voluntary. Thanks for the advice everyone, I was still nervous though when we got there. But after a while I realized that the weekend was just going to be me and Kyle talking and thats when I relaxed! I totally agree with you guys and I recommend doing it
