Hi friends,
I need help. SO has had his heart set on a Catholic church wedding. While I would need to convert (raised Christian Baptist, though never baptized) I always agreed that I would. He was raised very catholic and his parents are both passed away so he would like to honor them that way.
There are a few problems: he hasn't attended church anywhere recently and therefor isnt a parishioner anywhere. We called a church we like in the area and they didnt really seem to want to work with us once they heard he isnt a parishioner.
The other problem is that we have chosen a venue in the suburbs where a lot of my relatives live. And SO wants to chose a church in the city near us. That would mean asking our family (Say about 30 of them) to drive all the way to the city and then basically back where they just came from to the suburbs for reception.
Have any of you been in a similar situation with finding a catholic church? Any advice would help.
Thanks!
