Kaitlyn, on October 18, 2019 at 2:28 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 8
Where are all my traditional Catholic brides at? We will be getting married at St. Timothy’s in Laguna Niguel, CA. And reception in a backyard of our dear family friend’s house. Also where are all my military brides at? James is active duty military (Navy) and he’s stationed in Japan!! Any brides marrying military and going to be moving overseas!?

I am also having a catholic wedding. The reception will be at a nearby restaurant that seats only 50. I needed to find a place that had a limit so our moms wouldn't invite anyone lol. We are paying for everything so don't think we are being rude. I just want the wedding of my dreams and i need to make sure i get it lol.

Catholic bride here! We are getting married in a gorgeous 100 year old Church downtown. Initially I decided on the Church wedding to make my parents happy, but have since become super excited going the traditional route!

Oh yes, that’s wonderful for both of you. I can’t wait to marry my best friend. Yes we will be having about 100-130 people. My parents are going to help pay for it but we have to pay for some stuff too!!

I'm a Catholic bride as well! FH grew up Catholic, and I completed RCIA just last year. Smiley smile We are getting married at St. Peter in Kirkwood, MO (St. Louis suburb). We just finished our marriage preparation last night! It was sometimes a bit of a headache trying to get all of the boxes checked for our Catholic wedding, but I really appreciate how invested our parish is in our marriage and feel so ready. Smiley smile

Oh wow, you converted!? That’s amazing!!! Good for you and good for your fiancé. My fiancé is not Catholic (I am) and he will not be converting (no he doesn’t have to convert (at least not with our Parish/diocese) as long as we agree to raise our future children Catholic (we had planned on doing that anyway). I’m super excited!! Congrats on your big day.

Yes, I did Smiley smile it was a long time coming! I grew up Lutheran. FH and I agreed that we wanted to have a plan forward before we got married, so I finally agreed to give RCIA a shot (about 4 years into dating). It ended up working out really well. I wasn't required to convert, but it ended up making sense for us!

I'm a Catholic bride, but by no means "traditional". We are getting married in a gorgeous 169 yr old church, but the wedding is very much going to reflect our locale (San Francisco), our beliefs (he's agnostic, and we're both very liberal), my passion (Star Wars), and my culture (I'm Vietnamese).

We have all of our vendors locked in, but figuring out the details is honestly overwhelming. It's exhausting being me sometimes :-D

Well that’s really cool. So will you be having a Catholic mass? Or are you just getting married in a church. So you like Star Wars? And you are liberal? That’s okay 🙂 James and I are very conservative (he’s in the military after all) and I’m Catholic.
