Cathedral Veil with full Catholic Mass

Taylor, on May 27, 2020 at 9:37 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

Hi everyone,

I am getting married soon in the Catholic Church! We are choosing to have a full mass during our ceremony, which I am so excited for! But, this involves a lot of sitting, standing, kneeling, and then getting on the alter, which is great but I am wondering if anyone has any 'Veil' tips!

I am going to be wearing a long cathedral veil, but only for the ceremony. I have more of a laid back/boho sense of style, so this is my way to add a 'classic' element to my dress. I have also ALWAYS dreamed of having a cathedral veil so I am 100% doing it. haha

Anyways, if anyone has had a full catholic mass, and wore a cathedral veil, I would love some helpful tips. The idea of a cathedral veil obviously stems from the church in the first place, so I know it can be done! But, I'm nervous about sitting on it, kneeling on it or having something crazy happen!

Thanks!

I love how you’re not giving up the veil - I think it’ll be absolutely gorgeous! Although I’ve yet to get married and actually be the bride standing up there, you may want to bring your maid of honor or the second bridesmaid in line with you to your final fitting to see the veil and see how you move in the veil. You can ask one of them to help out through the ceremony to keep the veil in place and following wherever you go.

Personally, I think your bridal party is there to love on you and help you and they’d love a task during the ceremony. They could even pretend and trace their pace during the rehearsal!

A cathedral veil down the aisle is absolutely gorgeous.

My best friend had one for her full Catholic mass ceremony.
I agree with the above poster. Your bridal party will need to help you out. At different times my friend’s folded into itself. So maybe have a little practice with your maid of honor before the big day.

It's possible!! I have friends who've done it as well!

You should designate your maid of honor (or a bridesmaid) to help you arrange and fix your dress & veil during the ceremony - and practice with your full veil at the rehearsal!! This will also let you practice with your husband so if there are any moments where he needs to help you instead you can go over them together. Smiley smile
