Cathedral Veil w/ no Train on Dress? Brutal Honesty Please!

Kat, on January 15, 2018 at 8:10 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

The dress I'm leaning towards doesn't have a train (none at all, not even a short one), but I've also fallen in love with those ornate lace-trimmed cathedral-length veils. Would it be weird to wear such a long veil without also having a train on my dress? I need brutal honesty...the last thing I want is for people to think "Hmm, that's odd" when I'm walking down the aisle.

From a practicality standpoint it's kind of the best of both worlds...I'd get the ooos and ahhs about the train during the ceremony, but then I don't have to worry about bustling it up for the reception. But who cares about practicality if it's going to look bad (#girllogic haha)!

I agree that it’s the best of both worlds! Honestly, I think it will be a beautiful look, especially if you FEEL beautiful in it!!

I don't think it's a problem, but if you had a picture of your dress train and veil that would be helpful Smiley smile

I think that will be perfect! That's what I was planning on doing if I didn't find a dress with a train that I loved.

I think it's a great idea! I considered it as well so that I would have a train for the ceremony, not have to worry about a bustle and just have a comfy dress for dancing. But I ended up with a dress with a train. I say go for it!

I don't think so but the best thing to do is put on your dress and a long veil and see if you love it. If you do, go for it!

I honestly think this could be best of both worlds for you, and not odd at all.

as long as your dress and veil coordinate and dont clash it would look gorgeous and hey, no bustling! easy wear.

i think pictures would help but im picturing a simpler dress with an ornate veil and it looks wonderful. i'd say do it!

It's definitely the best of both worlds and not weird at all. A lot of people decide on an intricate cathedral veil specifically because they don't have a train! You get the beauty of a long train and the added bonus of not having to get your dress bustled.

I think it could be very nice, but I would try it on with your dress first to make sure you love it!
