Cathedral Veil Issues

Caroline, on October 15, 2017 at 1:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Hello All - I have a beautiful beaded cathedral veil and it just came in and I have been trying it on at home - I am very worried it will fall out when I walk down the aisle. My hair will be down (I am dead set on this) and my hair is thin. Anyone else have this issue? Also, any tips on whether to wear the veil in front of shoulders or behind when you are walking? Thank you!

When you put your veil in, you should be able to bobby-pin it into place. I had my hair half up half down and when I was putting my veil in, my hair lady came to pin it in place into my hair and it stayed all day no issues.

I also have extremely thin hair and my veil falls out each time I try it on (it's only elbow length). I'm correcting this by putting my hair up, but since you're against that, I would recommend lots of bobby pins and hairspray. Keep trying it on at home until you find something that works. Also, I think most people wear cathedral veils behind them, unless you have a blusher, which would go in front of your face

Try adding some clip in extensions in the area the veil will be placed. It will give the veil something to hold on to..also use a very heavy duty hairspray to spray the Bobby pins that will be used to secure the veil. Placing them in an X shape should help as would teasing the roots of your hair to create some texture for things to hold on to. My hair is not particularly thin, but I wore my hair down and curled with a cathedral veil and had no issues.

I had my hair down with a cathedral veil. My hair stylist put in plenty of Bobby pins to keep it in place.

I only wore it for a couple of hours so it was fine. I wore it for first look pictures and the ceremony only. However, I know it wouldn't have lasted very much longer.

Maybe change the comb to a clip?

I had a cathedral veil. My HMUA used a ton of pins but it was really secure. It may feel heavy but a good HMUA should be able to make it secure.

Are you styling your own hair or having someone do it? You need to add tact to your hair. I would suggest back combing it a little. Something like dry shampoo or hair texturizer (powders mouse or spray) will make your hair less slick and give the comb something to hold on to.

Put a little hair tie or clip under it and it should stay. If your having your hair done they should be able to fix it for you so it won't fall out

Talk to your HMUA about your concerns and they should have solutions for you!
