Cathedral Bustles

BecomingBailey, on February 7, 2016 at 1:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

Show me your bustle! Trying to decide how I'd like to bustle my train and looking for ideas and suggestions. Haven't found a whole lot with my online searches.

What does your dress look like? I'd be happy to show you some bustles from my friends' weddings. Their silhouettes of their dresses really vary, but if you show me yours I can try to find one that's similar!

It's full lace, mermaid, and it will have a smidge of fluff on the bottom. I don't have a picture right now.

I found an AMAZING seamstress's explanation of bustle styles with lots of photos here:

    http://www.leanna.com/Bustle/Bustles.shtml

The website is older and very basic, but the explanations are great.

Wow @Emilyg. That web site has an impressive amount of information on bustles. My mind is kind of blown. I didn't even know there were that many options!

Heres the back of my dress, hard to see at the altar, looking for a pic of my bustle. It was 5 points on the tulle and 3 for the under layer.

Ok here she is! So far in my deeper research I'm finding the the ballroom bustle might be the way to go for me. The place I bought my dress is like the nordies of bridal salons and they seem to be super knowledgeable so we'll see what works best I guess. I'm just trying to have an idea of what I like or don't like before I go back when it comes in.

Also: honestly, you will probably just have to wait to see what the seamstress says your options are. Your options may be varied or very limited based on your fabric and type of dress.
